Read MoreThis past weekend I attended the J Street Conference at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. I understand there were some 2000 attendees, 400 college students! While everyone was asked to show their vaccination cards and wear masks, the greater majority did not wear masks. The vast majority were also exuberant about this opportunity, for the first time in almost three years, to engage with each other and the issues. “Each other” included many Palestinian activists who were also present to express their concerns and to share their commitment to a two state solution and the right of the Palestinian people to equal rights and self-determination.

We are making progress! As the Israelites in this week's Parsha, Bahaalotecha, begin to move forward, so are we. There’s a lot of movement in our country right now. Every few days people are marching for such causes as women’s reproductive rights, gun control legislation, voting rights and other causes.
Read MoreMelissa and I have taken the week off. Originally, Diane and I had planned to visit family in Florida. Because of omicron we were convinced not to go. Nonetheless, I need some down time and hope it will be possible here. So, the office has been closed this week. We scheduled this newsletter last week.
